Hero Records was established in Cleveland, Ohio by Dr. Joel Friedman, Ronald Salupo and Carl Maduri and is dedicated to the development and promotion of extraordinary artists and producers. The label has maintained a focus on pop/rock oriented music and continues to expand its roster of artists and its catalogue of products.
If we could travel in a time machine back to the 1950’s, 1960’s and 1970’s, what would we see? What would we remember? For most of today’s senior music lovers, we really don’t need a time machine to know because we were actually there! We lived through three decades of wars, social change and prosperity. The pop music of those three decades reflects our history. And for those “baby boomers” who have come after Unforgettable Memories provides a most important bridge to the ones we love.
To recapture this national treasure of Unforgettable Memories, Carl Maduri, Chairman of MAS Records, has brought together some of the finest musicians of that era and today, to form the Classic Pop Orchestra to play for the All-Star Singers, the original artists singing their greatest hits.
Maduri is a veteran music industry executive with over 50 major projects to his credit including The Morning After (from the motion picture “Poseidon Adventure”), which was a #1 Record and won an Academy Award for Best Song of the Year – Maduri’s new production combines Maureen McGovern’s classic style with leading Christian vocalist Sandi Patty’s inspirational harmonies, resulting in a remarkable rendition of The Morning After.
Ever innovative, Maduri has assembled other All-Star Singers including Jimmy Beaumont & the Skyliners, Joanie Sommers, Mel Carter, Barbara Lewis, Sonny Geraci and Climax, The Gaylords, The Vogues, and Four Lads featuring Bernie Toorish, recording their hits in duets or medleys with 2001 musical arrangements to create all new original recordings, making Unforgettable Memories a unique keepsake. Maduri has also included two bonus recordings by the late Eva Cassidy, including the current hit “Over the Rainbow” – Cassidy’s hauntingly beautiful vocals make the listener aware that her potential was huge, and Unforgettable Memories stands as a testament to popular music’s loss.
